Description

This blend contains two Lactobacillus species - brevis and plantarum - giving the blend a wide active temperature range. The Lactobacillus plantarum strain was isolated in collaboration with Marz Community Brewing from a starter inoculated with whole malt grains. It sours efficiently at lower temperatures (65F-100F) compared to other Lactobacillus species.

  • Temperature Range: 68-105F
  • Approximately 150 billion viable cells per package.
  • UPC: 855651008239

5 of 5 Very Sour Saturday, May 14, 2016
Reviewer: Andrew Kline from Troy, MI United States
Quick soured in the fermenter for 24 hours and added WLP644.  Delicious Gose with a lot of acidity.  It ended up being too much acidity at a pH of 2.95, but I will use this strain again to make an acid beer for blending.  I like that it was able to sour at room temperature.
