I always make 5 1/2 to 6 gallon batches because I know I'm going to lose a bit when transferring to a secondary and then into a keg. Alcohol content is kept in line with the original receipe by adding glucoamalyaze (which makes for a slightly less full bodied beer/lower final gravity than the original reciepe but also lowers the carbs a bit).Bottled 5 bottles without lagering and have 5 gallons currently lagering. Bottles have carbed and are quite hoppy but good hoppy. Figure the final lagered product will be slightly less hoppy, but initial non-lagered bottles have me craving the final brew. Will buy again.
