I added a cup of sugar up front, 7.8%ABV. Add dry ingredients slowly...and I temporarily turn the heat off when I add dry ingredients. I learned this the hard way with immediate spontaneous boil overs...my beer came out tasting like a Sculpin(balast point's west coast IPA)
